New 'Nearly Indestructible' Tablet Can Be Completely Customized

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Rockville, MD (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 InHand Electronics has introduced its latest tablet, the customizable, rugged Hydra-F6 (HF6). The 7” sunlight-readable Android tablet is built around InHand’s Freescale i.MX 6 Cortex-A9 processor-based single board computer, the Fury-F6. The MIL-SPEC tablet is extremely durable - including the ability to use it while fully submersed - and offers up to 10 hours of run time, while weighing less than 25 ounces.

The HF6 is LTE capable and provides a full range of standard peripherals. Features include: DDR3 and flash memory, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, camera, resistive touchscreen with Gorilla Glass, programmable buttons, speakers, microphone, environmental sensors, and wireless charging. The system’s expansion dock connector enables external connections via USB, DC power, HDMI, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet, and RS-232. The Hydra-F6 is available as a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tablet or with a full range of InHand design services to customize it for application-specific needs. Options include: display sizes, peripherals, operating systems, security features, private labeling, and custom enclosures.

“Our Hydra tablets are the best rugged tablets on the market. They stand out not only because they’re nearly indestructible – and still maintain the look of a typical tablet – they’re also completely customizable,” stated Rodney Feldman, Director of Systems Engineers at InHand. He continued, “This means clients, like OEMs in military, medical or industrial markets, can easily leverage InHand’s custom design expertise and Hydra-F6 to quickly meet any project specifications – creating a solution on time and under budget.” The Hydra-F6 is also available in a single core model based on InHand’s Siren-F6.
