Gov. Nixon Appoints Bertelson to 21st Circuit Judicial Commission


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., Dec. 4 -- Gov. Jay Nixon, D-Mo., issued the following news release: Gov. Jay Nixon today announced his appointment of Christine A. Bertelson, of Webster Groves, to serve on the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission. When a vacancy occurs on the bench of the 21st Circuit, the commission nominates three people who meet the statutory requirements to serve as a judge of that circuit. Those names are submitted to the Governor, who appoints one of the three to the vacant position.



Bertelson is executive vice president for corporate relations and communications for Major Brands Inc., in St. Louis. She previously served as senior policy advisor and chief speechwriter for the Governor, and was an editor for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from 1997 to 2009.

The Governor has appointed her for a term ending Dec. 31, 2018.
