Iran Establishes Webcam Connection for Prisoners [FARS News Agency]


(FARS News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TEHRAN (FNA)- The inmates being kept in the prisons of Iran can contact their families through webcam, an official announced on Saturday.



"We try to provide the prisoners' family members with the possibility to see them from a long distance through webcam," Head of Judiciary's Census and Technology Center Hamid Shahriyari said. "The possibility has been created for the prisoners in response centers of the Prisons Organization, and the families of the prisoners can see the inmates through webcam by going to these centers," he added. Shahriyari said the same method may also be used for testifying or presenting witness accounts to the court. In earlier remarks, Iran's Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani had underlined Iran's high respect for human rights, and said, "Islam as a religion is the manifestation and also the supporter of many humanitarian rights, and definitely, we accept born human rights which are approved by Islam."
