OAKLAND, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Now through the end of December, in all store locations, customers can shop World Market and know that all net proceeds from the sale of these baskets handcrafted by Filipino artisans will go toward aiding victims of this tragedy.

"Cost Plus World Market has a decades-long history of working with artisans and companies in the Philippines. It is important for the company to do our part to help those in need. Our hearts and prayers go out to those impacted by this devastating event," said Barry Feld, CEO, Cost Plus World Market.

As a company, World Market has long been committed to giving back to the communities in which it does business. Corporate employees are also supporting that commitment by holding various fundraising events internally to provide additional funds toward the relief efforts.

"Filipinos have suffered a severe calamity and need help as they organize and manage immediate and sustained relief efforts," said Direct Relief President and CEO, Thomas Tighe. "Direct Relief's focus is responding to urgnt requests for essential medications and supplies needed to provide services across the affected local communities. We couldn't do this work without the generous support of people and companies like Cost Plus World Market who are participating in the relief efforts."
