PrismTech Sells its OpenFusion CORBA Assets to Micro FocusBOSTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- PrismTech™, a global leader in standards-based, performance-critical middleware, today announced that it has sold its OpenFusion™ CORBA® assets to Micro Focus International plc (LSE: MCRO.L). The sale of OpenFusion will allow PrismTech to sharpen its focus on the high-growth Industrial Internet market opportunity for its OpenSplice™ DDS and Spectra™ SDR products and a new product line to be announced in early 2014. Over the years PrismTech has built OpenFusion into a leading brand in the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) marketplace with a loyal, happy and well-served customer base. The rapid growth in PrismTech's newer OpenSplice DDS and Spectra SDR product lines meant that the more mature OpenFusion line was no longer a comfortable fit for the company's high-growth strategy. Micro Focus is an ideal custodian for the OpenFusion brand. It will allow Micro Focus to further consolidate its position as the leading global provider of CORBA software in he middleware market by adding OpenFusion to an extensive portfolio that already includes Orbacus, Orbix, VisiBroker and Artix. PrismTech is working closely with Micro Focus to ensure a smooth transition and trouble-free continuation of our customers' OpenFusion maintenance and support services. PrismTech's OpenFusion customers can continue to use their existing login and contact details for support.
