Newedge Appoints Global Co-Heads for Commodities & Currencies

Newedge, a global leader in multi-asset brokerage and clearing, today announced that Francois Combes and Franck Borgel are appointed as Global Co-Heads of the Commodities & Currencies (C&C) business and will join the Firm's Executive Committee.



Francois Combes will be based in London and be responsible for leading Newedge's global Commodities business.

Franck Borgel will be based in New York and oversee Newedge's global Currencies business whilst retaining his responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for C&C.

Francois Combes joins Newedge from Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) and brings with him more than 30 years of commodities experience and expertise. Most recently, he was Deputy Head of Commodities and Head of Metals and Ags at SG CIB, before which he was Head of Commodities Trading from 2007 to 2011.

Franck Borgel has led a range of business lines and regions over the last 14 years at Newedge, and has served as the C&C COO over the last three years.

John Fay, former Global Head of C&C at Newedge, has decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities outside the firm.
