Managed Services IT Firm Grows in Indy(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 13 -- The Indiana Economic Development Corp. issued the following news release: BlackInk IT, a managed services information technology (IT) firm, announced plans today to expand its operations here, creating up to 30 new jobs by 2017. The homegrown-Hoosier firm, which serves small to mid-sized companies, will invest $244,500 to equip its 6,000 square-foot facility in downtown Indianapolis. The expansion, which began in November, will allow BlackInk IT to expand its offerings to professional services companies, including those in the health care, legal, accounting and education industries. "Our low-cost business climate has put the Hoosier State on the map as a place where high-tech companies thrive," said Eric Doden, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. "Thanks to our innovative minds, Indiana has the workforce needed to power companies like BlackInk IT, who in turn powers companies across the country." "In today's complex world, it is necessary to invest heavily in experienced people and technology in order to offer your clients the kinds of business solutions that will allow them to stay flexible and competitive in today's marketplace," said DJ Ware, founder and president of BlackInk IT. "Industry predictions see managed services growing by 12 to 15 percent a year. Our goal is to maximize 20 years of success and significantly grow our revenues in the next few years while expanding our geographic focus." Founded in 1993, BlackInk IT consults with small to mid-sized companies, managing IT infrastructure and providing business application services, helping clients increase productivity and minimize downtime. The company's current application services include mobile devices and document management, cloud service offerings and secure content delivery. With its growth, BlackInk IT plans to add complementary services for its clients, including enhancements to its managed services, critical device monitoring and additional software as a service solutions. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered BlackInk IT up to $300,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $40,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Indianapolis will consider additional tax abatement at the request of Develop Indy, a business unit of the Indy Chamber. "Indy is among the top five cities in America for tech job growth due to our strong business climate and innovative workforce," said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. "As we continue to promote our thriving IT sector, we welcome BlackInk IT's investment here and look forward to their continued success." BlackInk IT is the latest technology firm to announce its expansion in central Indiana this year. Thus far in 2013, central Indiana-based IT companies have announced plans to create more than 880 combined new jobs in the coming years, totaling upwards of $14.6 million in capital investment.
