Corpus Christi Caller-Times president retires

(Associated Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Darrell Coleman is retiring as Corpus Christi Caller-Times president and publisher.

The Caller-Times (http://bit.ly/JsfvNC) reports the 57-year-old veteran newspaper executive's retirement takes effect Dec. 31 but his last day in the newspaper offices was Friday.

He had held the twin titles since January 2010. He previously had been publisher of the Wichita Falls Times Record News for 10 years previously, and chief financial officer of the Corpus Christi newspaper from 1994 to 2000.

Coleman's successor as regional publisher will be Libby Averyt, who has been the Caller-Times advertising vice president.
