(Asian News International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Washington, Dec. 15 (ANI): Dating app Tinder has reportedly made 500 million matches since its debut just 15 months back.
A subsidiary of Match.com-maker IAC, the smartphone app is aimed at users who want to meet new people for dating at the swipe of a finger, towards the right to like someone, or to the left to move on to a stream of more candidates.
According to Cnet, during peak hours, Tinder processes 50,000 requests per second, which include all Tinder actions like a log-in, photo upload, or swipe and every day there are 400 million profile ratings and on an average the company makes 4.5 million matches per day.
CEO Sean Rad had earlier insisted that Tinder is less about dating and more about making connections romantic or otherwise and is also responsible for at least 100 marriages.
Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder Justin Mateen pointed that kids aged 13 to 17 represent around 7 percent of Tinder's population, while young adults aged 18 to 24, are the largest bunch of Tinder users, representing 53 percent of the population. (ANI)
