CBO board of governors to meet on Monday [Times of Oman]


(Times of Oman Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MUSCAT: The Central Bank of Oman's (CBO) Board of Governors will hold its 164th meeting after on Monday under the chair of Dr Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, Deputy Chairman of CBO's Board of Governors.



It will discuss various issues on the agenda of its meeting, including an application to establish a new Money Exchange Company in Oman.

It will also deliberate the issue of separation of investment activities from the banking activities and establishing affiliated companies for this purpose by commercial banks, in addition to discussing the National Payment System Law.


The Board will also discuss the CBO's Annual Budget and CBO's Pension Fund Annual Budget, as well as the Bank Deposits Insurance Scheme (BDIS) Annual Budget for the year 2014.

The Board will also discuss the proposal to increase the CBO's Capital, besides deliberating the recommendations included in the Report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Mission on the Financial Sector Assessment Programme (FSAP) of the Sultanate.
