eXtra gives customers vouchers following tablet computer pricing glitch [Arab News (Saudi Arabia)]

(Arab News (Saudi Arabia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ALKHOBAR: ARAB NEWSUnited Electronics Company (eXtra) has decided as an exceptional measure to compensate customers who ordered a HP Slatebook tablet computer online at the wrong price.

eXtra, which claims the decision is taken true to its philosophy of always aiming to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction, stated that the action follows a technical glitch which temporarily caused the price of the item to be wrongly advertised as SR189, instead of the actual price of SR1,899, during which time a number of customers placed orders to purchase the product.

For any inconvenience caused, affected customers will receive a voucher worth SR1,710, equal to the difference between the wrongly advertised and actual prices.

The error was quickly corrected and apologies were made to customers via phone and email. According to the company's e-commerce terms and conditions, which customers accept electronically when making an online purchase, eXtra has the right to cancel orders in the event of any error in the price or if the quantity is unavailable.

In this instance, however, and in line with its commitment to outstanding customer service, eXtra has taken the exceptional decision to compensate affected customers, the company stated.
