The new yard will be established on the lines of Al Mazrouah Yard, which was opened on December 5 for the second successive season. According to the report, arrangements are being made to prepare the infrastructure and form agreements with farms and companies which will supply their agricultural products to the new yard. The prices would be at par with that of Al Mazrouah Yard, in line with the Ministry of Environment's objective of providing fresh produce at competitive prices. The new yard will utilise the most modern methods of collection, sorting and packing of produce. "The Al Mazrouah experiment has been successful and the prices are as much as 40% cheaper than those stipulated by the Consumer Protection Department," the report quoted a source. Zakat Fund provides winter clothes to needy The Zakat Fund has spent QR3.2mn on winter clothes for the benefit of 1,728 needy families in Qatar. A spokesman for the fund pointed out that this sum included the approved monthly and seasonal aid given to the needy families. The fund forwards the money to the beneficiaries' bank accounts so that they need not visit its headquarters. QTA announces 'Paris comes to Doha' In 2012, Qatar has received 1mn tourists, of which 11% came from Europe and more than 20% from the Gulf states. In its efforts to introduce Qatar's tourist attractions regionally and internationally, the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will organise a number of marketing campaigns with a view to capture a large portion of the international tourism business, Rashid al-Quraisi, director of marketing and promotion, has said. The QTA has launched a promotional campaign entitled "Paris comes to Doha" on the occasion of the third visit of Paris Saint-Germain to Qatar from December 29 to January 3. The campaign will be broadcast on a number of TV networks around the world . Al-Quraisi stated that the QTA's office in Paris and promotional billboards in different parts of France have greatly contributed to the promotion of Qatar as a popular tourism spot.
