Klein Tools gives $50,000 to U.S. veterans charity [Snips]

(Snips Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Klein Tools Inc. had pledged to give military charity Operation Homefront $25,000 as part of a promotion for its limited-edition camouflage pliers.

But the campaign, which saw Klein take its popular 200 Series side-cutting pliers and dip the handles in camouflage- colored plastic and etch "Support our troops" on the head, was so popular, the toolmaker doubled the donation.

"Our 'camo' pliers promotion provided us an opportunity to give back to the service men and women who have sacrificed so much," said Megan Klein, associate marketing manager at Klein Tools. "We hope this also raised awareness of all the different ways Operation Homefront helps our military and their families." James Michael, executive director of Operation Homefront of Illinois, said the charity really appreciated the gift.

"We were amazed that Klein Tools decided to double their contribution," Michael said. "The $50,000 donation will go a long way to provide financial or other necessaiy assistance to military families in these challenging economic times." Klein Tools gave charity Operation Homefront a $50,000 donation to support military families.
