Williams Kastner Congratulates Jessie Harris on Being Elected Managing Director

SEATTLE --(Business Wire)--

Williams Kastner is pleased to announce that Jessie Harris has been elected to the position of firm Managing Director. Mr. Harris is a member in the firm's Seattle office, and his practice focuses on civil litigation related to employment law, bodily injury, product liability and commercial cases. He has an AV® Preeminent™ rating in Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™, the highest peer-review rating available, and he has been named to Super Lawyers each year since 2011 by Super Lawyers magazine. Mr. Harris has been an active leader in the legal and local communities, holding positions on the Executive Committee of the Section of Litigation for the Washington State Bar Association, the Gonzaga University School of Law Board of Advisors, and the YMCA of Downtown Seattle Board of Managers, among others. Mr. Harris is a past president of the Associated Students of Washington State University and served as a soldier in the U.S. Army Reserves. M. Harris has been a member of Williams Kastner's Board of Directors since 2010, and the firm looks forward to his new ideas and perspectives as he takes on the role of Managing Director.

Williams Kastner would also like to thank outgoing Managing Director Sheryl Willert for her service. Ms. Willert's impact is evident within the firm as well as in the greater legal community. When Ms. Willert was unanimously elected the firm's Managing Director in 1996, she was one of only a half-dozen women in the country to be honored with such an appointment at firms of comparable size. She was also one of only three females to become a Managing Director among the 25 largest law firms in the Pacific Northwest, and the only African-American woman to achieve a Managing Partner position in firms of comparable size in the country. More recently, Ms. Willert was named one of Puget Sound Business Journal's Women of Influence, and she received the Loren Miller Bar Association's Pioneering Woman Award, presented to African-American female attorneys who are trailblazers in the legal profession. The firm looks forward to Ms. Willert's ongoing membership and invaluable guidance and will continue to look to her as a valued role model.
