TRA wins SAMENA Award [Daily Tribune (Bahrain)](Daily Tribune (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Amer has won the 'Best Telecom Regulator Leader in the SAMENA Region' Award during the fifth edition of SAMENA Telecommunications Council 2013. "We are proud to win this award, which is attributed to the board of directors, the general director and the staff of TRA who had a significant role in TRA achievements at various levels," Dr. Al Amer said. He added that the award will motivate him to fulfil Bahrain's aspirations. TRA had won numerous awards in previous years including the e-Economic Award in 2012 at the local level, CommesMEA's Best Regulator Award in 2013 and SAMENA's Best Regulator Award in 2011. The awards have been granted in five categories namely; operators awards, manufacturers and suppliers awards, regulators awards, satellite providers awards and individual awards.
