Airtel Zambia says mobile money users reach 1.8mn [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]
(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The number of customers using mobile operator Airtel Zambia's mobile money platform has reached 1.8mn people and the transactions performed via the platform are half a million monthly, according to the company's managing director Charity Lumpa, ITWebAfrica reported.
Lumpa also said the company has almost 5mn clients and aims to increase this number.
Airtel Zambia, which launched 3G services in January 2012, is part of India's Bharti Airtel that provides mobile services in 17 African countries.
