Confusion at Fujairah girls' schools as 10 teachers depart [National, The (United Arab Emirates)]


(National, The (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ten Emirati teachers in Fujairah have resigned, causing confusion in several girls' schools. Under the human resources law, teachers who wish to resign from government schools are given 15 days to review their decision. Schools have to wait 15 days before looking for replacements, according to Juma Khalfan Al Kindi, the director of the Fujairah School District. He told Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National, that the education ministry was working on replacing the teachers before the second school term starts.



Microsoft donates computers in UAE Microsoft Gulf has donated US$5 million (Dh18.3m) worth of computers to nine non-profit organsitions in the UAE as part of its Software Donation Programme. In Phase One, the firm donated US$2 million worth of software to charities while US$3 million will be donated in Phase Two.

New fund to help science students A charity fund has been set up to support students and scientific research at Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Science University. The aim is to assist outstanding students who are unable to pay fees, and to support scientific research.
