Windsor hospital CEO says about half of staff got flu shot, should be more(Canadian Press DataFile Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WINDSOR, Ont. _ Health officials in Windsor, Ont., are urging more people to get a flu shot, including hospital staff. There are 122 confirmed flu cases in the Windsor area, with 36 people being hospitalized, and as many as five confirmed deaths. Windsor Regional Hospital CEO David Musyj (Moo-SHAY) says only about 50 to 60 per cent of staff there have received a flu shot and that's far too low. He says there may have been some apathy among hospital staff about getting the shot, but the increasing number of flu cases this season is prompting some to change their minds. The hospital has imposed visitor restrictions similar to those put in place during the 2003 SARS outbreak. Officials say many of those diagnosed with influenza this season have the H1N1 strain of the flu. It's not too late to get a flu shot and Windsor officials say about 2,000 doses are available at local walk-in clinics and pharmacies, with more expected to arrive this week.
