UAE telecom boss to answer questions related to MNP on social media [Seven Days (United Arab Emirates)]

(Seven Days (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The boss of UAE telecoms firm du is to answer questions from phone owners tonight about Mobile Number Portability (MNP), the new system that allows users to switch from one firm to another while keeping the same number.

The firm's first 'Let's talk' session will take place from 8pm to 9pm.

People can participate in the session by submitting a question or comment using #letstalk across du's various social media channels, including its twitter account @dutweets and facebook page facebook.com/du, as well as du's YouTube channel, youtube.com/theduchannel.

The phone firm said CEO Osman Sultan will "answer all questions and acknowledge all comments on MNP".

A statement added that the questions would be answered "either with Mr Sultan answering live on air or by sharing written responses".

Du insisted: "Every question will receive an answer." UAE mobile users were able to move between telecoms operators Etisalat and du without having to surrender their number for the first time last month. The shake-up is designed to offer greater competition between the firms by removing a potential barrier to those considering a change.

Tonight's 'Let's Talk' session will be broadcast on YouTube, du TV on channel 101 and also on mobile devices through myworld.du.ae.
