Ms. AnushaRehman Ahmed Khan, Minister of State for IT and Telecom, Government of Pakistan will be the Chief Guest whereas Federal Secretary IT and Telecom Mr. Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar, Dr. Ismail Shah Chairman Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA), Dr. Joseph Wilson Chairman Competition Commission of Pakistan, Mr. Faisal Sattar CEO Universal Services Fund (USF), Mr. Khalid Mahmood CEO and Country Manager First Global Data Pakistan, Syed Tahir Rizvi Regional Head Asia Pacific One Apple Pakistan, Mr. Fan Yun Jun CEO China Mobile Pakistan, Syed Iqtedar Zaidi President and Chief Executive Techaccess Pakistan, and Mr. Karim Peerani General Manager Soft World International will be the Guests of Honour. On this occasion Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan, Mr. Kaukab Iqbal while briefing the press in CAP office about the conference told that the conference will be held to create awareness among masses regarding IT and Telecom sector.

He added that number of subscribers in telecom sector has reached approximately up to 130 million whereas internet users are about 30 million in Pakistan. Recently mobile banking has also been introduced which has made a tremendous leap in the development of banking sector. According to Mr.Kaukab Iqbal if appropriate emphasis is given to IT and Telecom sector, opportunities to earn foreign exchange for the country will be maximized whereas job opportunities for our youth will also be accelerated.

He added, despite the fact that the number of consumers in telecom sector is increasing day by day but consumers are still unaware about their rights. On continuous pursuance of Consumers Association of Pakistan a complaint cell has been established and is working for redressal of grievances of consumers in the Directorate of PTA.

He said that we should work hard to promote IT and telecom sector so that computers and laptops can be available in the country to our consumers at affordable prices. At the end, he said that to make this conference a successful event PTA participating as a Supported partner, Competition Commission of Pakistan (Strategic partner), First Global Data Ltd. (Lead partner), One Apple (Lead partner), ZONG China Mobile (Cause partner), Techaccess (Cause partner), Business Services, Soft World International, Tara Data, NCR, SITA (Partners in Progress) whereas Tele Times will be Exclusive Media Partner, Teletekwire as Online Partner, TCS (Supportive partner and CBS as Event manager, WCUBE Marketing as Digital and Social media partner.
