Laserfiche Releases Product Roadmap at Empower 2014 [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Laserfiche kicked off its Empower 2014 Conference with a keynote speech from company CTO Karl Chan outlining new and upcoming software releases.

According to a release, the new lineup includes social BPM, expanded mobile offerings and new web products.

"Laserfiche's mission has always been to democratize information. To support that, our goals for the future include making organizations more flexible, mobile and socially proactive," said Chan. "We're focused on helping you get your hands on all of the information relevant to your business-regardless of where it's stored or how it's transmitted-while also helping you maintain your profitability, productivity and success." Too often, work waits when people can't get the information they need. Laserfiche's new social BPM functionality will provide a place for people to collaborate around document-driven business processes, answering questions, sharing ideas and capturing tacit knowledge that is often lost when projects end or employees leave an organization.

"At Laserfiche, we believe that the culture or institutional knowledge of an organization represents its greatest asset- especially in the high-tech world where things change so rapidly," said Chris Wacker, Executive Vice President at Laserfiche. "The more widely it can be disseminated among employees, partners and customers, the greater the return. We see this as the greatest area for growth, a sort-of FAQ system on steroids." Laserfiche has extended its mobile app to Android devices. This increases organizations' ability to offer secure, anywhere access to corporate content from a variety of devices, and allows business processes to proceed when key decision makers are on the road.

Laserfiche Web Accelerator helps geographically dispersed organizations share and access images in their Laserfiche repositories without sacrificing speed. This is accomplished by offloading image caching to improve the performance of all Laserfiche web products, including Laserfiche Web Access 10, the next generation of Laserfiche's thin-client interface. With a new UI and new ways to interact with documents, Laserfiche Web Access 10 will make it easier for users to find the information they need to do their jobs.

Based in Long Beach, CA, with global headquarters in Hong Kong and offices in Shanghai, Toronto, Panama, London, Washington, D.C., and Fort Lauderdale, FL, Laserfiche uses its Run Smarter philosophy to create simple and elegant enterprise content management (ECM) solutions.
