Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Launches Builder's Risk, Names Head of Specialty Property Area
BOSTON --(Business Wire)--
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) today announced that it is
expanding its property capabilities to include builder's risk insurance.
The company also named Robert Tricamo to head the new specialty property
area as Vice President, Construction.
"Builder's risk is a natural extension of our property and specialty
lines expertise. These new capabilities enable us to round out our
construction offering, bringing large-scale capacity and technical
underwriting experience to large projects," said Sanjay Godhwani,
Executive Vice President, Property and Programs, BHSI.
In this newly created position, Mr. Tricamo will oversee BHSI's entry
into builder's risk and its ongoing strategy and execution for the
product line. Mr. Tricamo comes to BHSI with extensive technical
property experience, most recently as Product Line Manager, Builder's
Risk (CAR/EAR), at Arch Insurance Group. Before tat he held a variety
of increasing responsible positions in the technical property insurance
arena, including Vice President, Technical Risk Property, at Quanta US
Holdings and Supervising Underwriter, Property and Engineered Risks, at
Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation.
Mr. Tricamo is a founding member of the North American Construction
Committee of the Inland Marine Underwriters Association. He holds a
bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnic University.
