Zambia : MTN introduces LTE in ZAMBIA [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) With the launch of the service in Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola and Livingstone on Friday, MTN Zambia is now the first mobile operator to introduce LTE in the country.

The second phase of the launch, which is already ongoing, will boost LTE coverage within these same towns and span new areas as well.

MTN said LTE routers and SIM cards can be availed from service centres in the stated coverage regions and modems and smartphones will be available soon.

MTN Zambia CEO Abdul Ismail said the commercial release of LTE is part of a larger network transformation program that the carrier has been implementing over the last few years and has been done ahead of various other developed countries in Africa.

Chief marketing officer, Clement Asante, said : 'The days of waiting for hours on end for music, pictures or videos to load online are long gone with MTN's LTE service.' (c) 2014 Euclid Infotech Pvt. Ltd. Provided by Syndigate.info, an Albawaba.com company
