BRIEF: Stratton resigns as Danville's economic development director [Danville Register & Bee, Va. :: ]
(Danville Register & Bee (VA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 24--Jeremy Stratton has resigned as director of the Danville Office of Economic Development, according to a news release issued by Danville City Manager Joe King Thursday.
"Jeremy has done a great job for the city of Danville," King said in the release. "We are going to miss him, but we wish him well."
Stratton will be leaving the city to join the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce in El Dorado, Ark., as president and chief executive officer. He has served as Danville's economic development director since 2007.
In the release, King said he would announce plans to fill the position following discussion with City Council.
"In the interim, we are going to move forward in helping local companies to grow and recruiting more companies to Danville," he said. "We are fortunate to have a good economic development staff in place."
Stratton's resignation is effective Feb. 28.
