Umpqua Bank's Connect Volunteer Network Marks 10 Years of Community Engagement
PORTLAND, Ore. --(Business Wire)--
Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: UMPQ), is
celebrating the ten-year anniversary of its Connect Volunteer Network™,
which provides associates with paid time off to volunteer at
youth-focused organizations, schools and community development programs.

volunteerism in the communities they serve. Annually, more than 80% of
Umpqua associates participate, more than double the national average,
according to the Carroll School of Management Center for Corporate
Citizenship at Boston College.
"We created the Connect program ten years ago with a simple idea in
mind: to make it possible for every Umpqua associate to give back to
their community in a meaningful way," said Ray Davis, Umpqua Bank
president and CEO. "Since then, Connect has become an essential part of
Umpqua's culture and one of the benefits our associates value most. Its
success reflects their passion and generosity, and I'm incredibly proud
of how their efforts are leading to stronger, healthier communities."
At the end of 2013, Umpqua associates had invested 282,838 total hours
of volunteer time in the communities they serve;

250,000th hour of volunteerism at Brockway Elementary
School in Winston, Ore.
