Spacelabs Healthcare Selected to Join U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker on Her First Trade Mission

Spacelabs Healthcare today announced it will join U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker on her first-ever trade mission to Mexico from February 3-7. The trade mission is focused on promoting U.S. exports and business opportunities in key industry sectors, including advanced manufacturing, information and communications technology, and health IT and medical devices. The delegation will make stops in Mexico City and Monterrey.

"We are really excited to join Secretary Pritzker on this trip to Mexico, which is a rapidly growing market for us," said Spacelabs President Nicholas Ong. "This trade mission provides us with a unique opportunity to build new relationships, explore future opportunities and find ways to further our company mission to bring the best care experience to patients and their families."

In a release from the Department of Commerce earlier this month, Secretary Pritzker explained why she believes international trade missions are so important for companies like Spacelabs.

"As the country's Chief Commercial Advocate, a key part of my job is to promote trade and investment and connect U.S. businesses with potential customers across the globe," said U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritkzer. "Ninety-five percent of customers worldwide live outside U.S. borders, and that is why promoting exports is essential to economic growth and job creaton."

Spacelabs is one of 17 export-ready U.S. companies who will take part in the trade mission. Participants will meet with prescreened potential partners, agents, distributors, representatives, and licensees. The agenda will also include meetings with high-level national and local government officials, networking opportunities, and country and industry briefings.

Dante Cifuentes, Spacelabs' Managing Director of Latin America and the Caribbean, will join Nicholas Ong in representing Spacelabs on the trip.
