Soon, patients to get e-mitra facility at SMS [DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India)]
(DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The patients and their relatives at Sawai Man Singh Hospital will not have to toil anymore to get trains or bus tickets. They would get tickets along with other facilities on SMS Hospital premises itself.
An e-mitra counter would be opened near the indoor sample collection centre at the hospital. Besides, photocopy and fax facilities would also be available. An internet café would also be opened for public use by May this year.
People have to go outside the hospital premises for getting the documentation work done. People who come from outside have to suffer as they don't know where to go to get photocopies done.
Now as new facilities would be available, the patients and their attendants will be able to get bus and train tickets at hospital itself. The facility of e-mitra is being made available at a state hospital for the first time.
The decision has already been taken to open the e-mitra counter at a meeting of Medicare Relief Society.
"We have discussed the plan at the meeting. We realised that this service could be of a great help to the patients and their attendants, especially those who come from outskirts and different districts. Now they will not have to go searching for shops to get photocopies done or send a fax. An internet café will also be available. They will also be able to get bus and train tickets in the hospital itself," said Dr Virendra Singh, medical superintendent, SMS Hospital.
The service is expected to begin by May this year.
