(identity (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Hi to it HQ Moscow-based office space specialists Nayada have helped Mail.Ru, one of the largest Internet service providers in Russia, to create its new headquarters, which occupies 27 floors covering a total of 28,000 square metres in one of the towers making up the Skylight Business Center.


Nayada was involved in the construction of offices over 26 floors, working in cooperation with architectural firm UNK Project, and suppliers of materials AGC, Forester, ALPI and Egger.

As the offices are specifically intended for employees of Mail.Ru, great attention was paid to the comfort and flexibility of all working units and recreation and communication areas, which include a gym and a mini-football area, cinema, coffee station and juice bar.

All spaces are built on the principle of maximum openness and functionality, with glass Nayada partitions and doors used in almost all the rooms.

Crystal glass partitions with a 'web' pattern form the meeting rooms and offices zone, with veneered door frames for an attractive finish, and were also used in the recreation area.

A variety of doors were manufactured by Nayada, including fire-resistant, glass fire-resistant and swing, combined with aluminium and veneered frames, reaching heights of three metres on the VIP floor.

The project also saw the first use of glazed partitions with the highest degree of fire resistance, EIW-90, which blocks the spread of fire for 90 minutes.

Nayada Hufcor sliding partitions, finished with laminated panels, were installed in the 500-person-capacity conference hall, allowing the room to be transformed according to the needs of the company, including holding several separate events simultaneously.

The installed structures offer sound insulation of up to 42 decibels.

The final touch is visible to anyone entering the office - the logo of Ru.Mail formed of Lego mini-figures.

Every employee chose a mini-figure as they entered the new headquarters.

Up! Through the use of images, video, models, CGI and visitor interaction, the free exhibition will present a past, present and future view of London's skyline as the capital's developers focus on building upwards rather than outwards.

Over 200 towers of more than 20 stories are currently planned for London, and around 150 of them are new residential blocks, aiming to accommodate the capital's growing population.

London's Growing...

Up! will offer a timely exploration of the hotly debated subject of how London's skyline, which has already altered greatly since the emergence of skyscrapers in London in the 1960s, will change in the next 20 years.

Visitors to the exhibition will explore the history of London's high-rise architecture through images, models and construction videos, witnessing how iconic structures such as the Barbican and Centre Point set a precedent for the future skyline and seeing the ever-changing landscape through a series of panoramic views of London that chart its ever-changing landscape.

The exhibition will also explore the significant growth in high-rise residential development.

High-rise residential was once only seen on council estates and glass skyscrapers were reserved for the business world, but the growing trend of luxury towers currently represents the majority of new developments in the capital.

Up! commented: "As London's population gets bigger and bigger and new development for London takes place within the constraints of the Green Belt, we have to increase the density of the city.

This results in our buildings getting taller.

The huge number of towers in the pipeline will have a significant impact on the look of London.

The exhibition will look at the current controls and planning processes to see whether they are fit for purpose and how they can cope with this upsurge in construction." Visitors will be able to have their say on what should or shouldn't be in the London skyline.

Touch screens will enable guests to rewind time and fast- forward to the future to see how London has, and will be, developed.

Visitors will have the opportunity to remove or change the location of buildings they don't like and even add buildings from other cities, making their own metropolis which will be posted onto the NLA's Twitter feed.

    New at the MariNa Dubai-based property developer Select Group has announced the sales opening for its latest project, the No.

9 tower, to be built in Dubai Marina.

As the name suggests, this new development, to be completed in March 2016, is the ninth for the firm, the largest private developer in the Marina area.

This Dhs500 million project will occupy one of the last remaining waterside plots, right next to the luxury hotel Grosvenor House.

The building will be residential, featuring one-, two- and three- bedroom apartments and four penthouse duplexes.

This announcement follows the news of the near-completion of two striking new projects in the area, also developed by the Select: West Avenue, a 31-storey residential tower inspired by the glamour and elegance of 20th Century Manhattan, featuring a sleek façade composed of floor-to-ceiling windows; and a waterfront luxury hotel, the five star Intercontinental Dubai Marina which features 132 rooms and 196 fully serviced apartments plus a range of high-end F&B and waterside amenities.

Both are set to open later this year.

These latest projects will add to Select's portfolio in the area, which already includes: the Torch tower, designed by award-winning architects Khatib & Alami and one of the tallest residential buildings in the world at 351 metres and 86 floors; Bay Central, a mixed-used development of three towers which includes a five-star hotel; and Botanica, a striking 41-floor tower featuring a unique tropical sky garden that dominates an entire floor half-way up the building.

iNNovatiNg sustaiNable solutioNs GE has unveiled its 'ecomagination Center created to: develop innovative solutions for driving sustainable growth; showcase GE advanced technology solutions; and offer training on the challenges of, and opportunities in advancing energy and water efficiency.

The company says the centre will also serve as a hub for localised innovation that involves all key stakeholders, including GE's partners, educational institutions and the wider community.

The 840-square metre ecomagination Center is based in the Incubator Building of Abu Dhabi's Masdar City, the first commercial property in the heart of the city's research and development cluster.

Masdar City is on a mission to discover a 'greenprint' for how cities can accommodate denser populations, while reducing energy, water and waste.

With 60% of the world's population expected to live in cities by 2030, dense urban centres will need to adopt sustainable solutions that reduce their dependency on resources.

As Part of a strategic co-operation agreement signed between GE and Mubadala Development Company, the ecomagination Center was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE minister of state and CEO of Masdar, Abu Dhabi's renewable energy company.

Several case studies on the success of GE's wider ecomagination programme will be showcased at the centre.

as will the company's Industrial Internet initiative that combines intelligent machines, advanced analytics and people at work in ways that dramatically improve productivity and efficiency.
