Ooredoo, Nokia Solutions Network sign MoU for ITU world conference [Peninsula, The (Qatar)]


(Peninsula, The (Qatar) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DOHA: Ooredoo and Nokia Solutions Networks (NSN) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding that will see the NSN's participation at the upcoming 2014 International Telecommunications Union Telecom World Conference in Doha.  The agreement was signed by Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, CEO, Ooredoo Qatar, and Ashish Chowdhary, EVP and President of Asia and Middle East markets of NSN, at a ceremony held at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.  Under the terms of the agreement, NSN will be a participant in the conference, which is set to take place from December 7.  The event, which brings together influential global leaders in ICT from the public and private sectors, is set to be one of the largest events held in the region this decade, with an estimated 90,000 visitors expected to attend.



Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani said: "We welcome NSN as participant for the 2014 ITU convention in Doha. We have worked with them as a vendor for many years, and this new agreement will see them bring the latest and best mobile broadband technology to the conference and exhibition."  "Important events such as the ITU Telecom World Conference are a key opportunity, as they allow us all to not only showcase the world's most efficient mobile networks, but also to take part in a dialogue about the future of communications. We're positive that Ooredoo will organise an open discussion in Qatar, and believe it will be an essential event for our industry," said Chowdhary.
