Transport Petrol price to go up 36c a litre Telecoms FoneWorx lifts revenue by 32% Finance Private sector credit grows [Pretoria News (South Africa)]


(Pretoria News (South Africa) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The price of all grades of petrol would rise by 36c a litre on Wednesday, the Energy Department said on Friday. Diesel with a sulphur content of 0.05 percent would go up by 27c a litre and that with a 0.005 percent sulphur content by 28c. The department cited rising crude oil costs and the weaker rand. - Sapa FoneWorx's revenue grew by 32 percent to R63.2 million in the six months to December last year, the telecoms service provider said on Friday. Gross profit rose 21.9 percent to R36.5m, partly owing to a change in payment policy. Cash flow from operating activities jumped 23.1 percent to R14.5m while earnings a share gained 10 percent to 9.88c. Staff costs rose 64 percent to R12.6m as employee numbers rose to 76 from 52 people in anticipation of rising sales in subsidiaries MediaWorx and the launch of Knowledge 350 degrees. The shares rose 4.31 percent to R2.17 on Friday. - Asha Speckman Growth in credit demand from the private sector quickened to 8.16 percent year on year in January from 6.14 percent in December last year, data from the Reserve Bank showed on Friday.
