Netronome CEO to Present on SDN and NFV Services at Open Networking Summit 2014
SANTA CLARA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
the leading provider of data plane processing solutions for
software-defined networks (SDN), today announced that the company's CEO
and founder Niel Viljoen will present at the Open
Networking Summit (ONS) during the "Hot Startups" track on Tuesday,
March 4, at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Netronome (News - Alert)
will also be giving live demonstrations of networking and security
applications based on their newly announced family of FlowNIC™ PCIe Gen3
cards and the new FlowEnvironment™ software package at booth 701.
Viljoen's session titled, "Hosting SDN L4-L7 and NFV Services on an
Accelerated Flow Processing Platform," will highlight a
fully-featured OpenFlow 1.3.x implementation with multi-table support
that includes the ability to intelligently steer traffic to VNF's local
to the platform.
"As networks continue to advance and the architectures transform, there
is an increasing demand for products based on open and standard software
and hadware specifications," said Viljoen. "I look forward to
demonstrating how this platform can be used for any intelligent control
point in SDN or NFV designs that require cybersecurity, gateway,
load-balancing and analytics applications."
Viljoen will also describe leading customer use cases who are employing
the platform as a WAN gateway between SDN and MPLS networks, as well as
for security purposes. The solution consists of standard COTS servers
augmented with Netronome's acceleration NICs and software, which allow
the platforms to scale to performance levels previously only found in
closed, fixed-function systems.
The ONS event brings together engineers, business leaders and
researchers who share and explore the key developments and deployments
in the rapidly-evolving world of OpenFlow and SDN.
