NYIT to Host Global Cybersecurity Conference in Abu Dhabi

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ABU DHABI, U.A.E., March 3 -- The New York Institute of Technology issued the following news: Gathering global experts from the information security industry, academia, and the U.S. government, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) will host its first Global Cybersecurity Conference at Abu Dhabi's Intercontinental Hotel on Tuesday, 25 March 2014.

As people's lives integrate ever more closely with the internet, information security breaches become both more common and more damaging. The Global Cybersecurity Conference, organized by NYIT's School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, will address threats and possible solutions, including educating a new generation of cyber professionals.

The daylong event, which will offer simultaneous English-Arabic translation, includes keynote speeches by Daniel R. Ennis of the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA), who directs the NSA/Central Security Service's Threat Operations Center, and Parag Pruthi, Ph.D., a cybersecurity pioneer and founder of NIKSUN, Inc.

Information security entrepreneur and NYIT faculty member Paul Stirpe will lead a panel of security professionals in exploring ways to protect assets vulnerable to cyber attack. Nada Marie Anid, Ph.D., dean of NYIT's School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, will moderate a further discussion on the best ways to train cybersecurity professionals.

NYIT is a leader in cybersecurity education and has been hosting conferences on the topic in New York for several years.

NYIT President Edward Guiliano, who will deliver an address in Abu Dhabi, has noted that conferences such as these help spur productive dialogue and raise awareness of critical issues and potential solutions.
