GCT Semiconductor and D2 Technologies to Partner [Professional Services Close - Up]
(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) GCT Semiconductor, a designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, and D2 Technologies, a provider of embedded IP communications software platforms, announced integration of D2's vPort 4G+ IMS software with GCT's GDM7243S 4G LTE mobile chipset.
"GCT and D2 are committed to continued integration and testing to enable the commercialization of VoLTE in mobile smartphones and tablets, and in emerging applications such as M2M, automotive and fixed-wireless access routers," said Doug Makishima, chief operating officer for D2 Technologies, in a release. "As more device types adopt LTE-based technology, the successful integration of IMS IP communications capabilities such as VoLTE, IR.94 video and RCS 5.1 / joyn, represents an important enabler for OEMs and network operators seeking to deliver evolved services."
