Speaktoit (www.speaktoit.com), developer of human-machine interaction technologies based on natural language conversations and creator of the Assistant, a popular voice assistant for the Android platform, today announced the hiring of Zarko Maletin to an executive role in charge of Business and Growth. Recently, Speaktoit has secured additional funding from Intel Capital and Alpine Technology Fund. Maletin is another part of this growth and development of Speaktoit as a leading company in human-machine interaction technologies.
"Speaktoit's made tremendous strides in such a short time," said Maletin. "And the company is in a space that's poised for even more growth in the future. Embedding speech-based user interface systems into more and more devices and gadgets is where the industry is headed. I'm thrilled to be joining the company at this particular point in its growth."
The latest round of funding from Intel and Alpine will allow Speaktoit to expand natural language speech interfaces and predictive technologies into homes, cars, robots and wearables. Over the course of the past four years he has been investing and advising from Plug and Play Ventures, the venture arm of the largest community of start-ups in Silicon Valley, the Plug and Play Tech Center. Maletin recently made nine investments; among some of his most recent investments are Mainframe2, Riffsy, Stipple, Naturebox. He has advised and mentored over 80 start-ups. Zarko graduated with an MBA from the University of Cambridge.
"We're at a very exciting time in our business' growth," said Ilya Gelfenbeyn, CEO and co-founder of Speaktoit. "Zarko is bringing us extensive experience and knowledge from the consumer electronics, automotive and wearable technologies spaces. We hope to build on our current momentum to continue to expand our consumer base, to develop our relationships with current and new corporate partners, and to push into truly fascinating future directions."
