BRIEF: Portland Timbers to use city of Portland's flag for marketing [The Oregonian, Portland, Ore. :: ](Oregonian (Portland, OR) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 07--The Portland Timbers are about to get a new marketing tool: Portland's obscure city flag. Under a deal heading to the Portland City Council on Wednesday for immediate approval, the Timbers would begin use Portland's city flag on merchandise and other promotional items. Portland would charge the Timbers-related entity just $100 a year under the five-year agreement.
