Toyota rides on popular models [Daily Tribune (Bahrain)]
(Daily Tribune (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) After capping a highly successful year in terms of both revenue and sales in the Kingdom, Toyota is looking forward to keeping its momentum through its popular models – Yaris, Corolla, Prado and Land Cruiser. "Toyota posted a record 15 per cent sales growth last year in Bahrain," Toyota and Lexus Marketing Manager Ayman Shehadeh told DT News. "The region also witnessed strong growth of the Japanese company thanks to the depreciation of yen," he said. "With the depreciation, the prices of our products didn't go up.
In most cases, they even went down. So, around the region, we were able to execute many promotion campaigns," he added. E.K. Kanoo, the Toyota distributors in Bahrain, launched five models — Rav4, Avalon, Prado, Yaris and Corolla — last year. "These models carried new design direction which is more dynamic, sporty and youthful. We received a positive response, which was translated to bigger sales. This year, we are aiming for a 10-15pc sales growth," Mr. Shehadeh said.
A strong after-sales service system has also placed Toyota ahead of its competitors. "We undoubtedly have the widest network in Bahrain for after-sales service. We are almost everywhere — 15 minutes away from any customer." The flagship Toyota Plaza in Tubli, which accommodates 7,000 cars monthly, is one of the largest such centres globally. Service station in Arad, which is currently under renovation, can attend to 4000 cars. Other service centres in Riffa and Manama along with several body shops and nine parts centres complete their wide network. "We have plans to expand our after-sales network in 2 years. We target populated areas and would be similar to the Toyota Plaza on a smaller scale," he said.
