(Telegraph-Herald (Dubuque, IA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Kathy Kopp, executive director of the Platteville Area Chamber of Commerce, was elected to the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives association's board of directors. The organization is a division of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce. Founded in 1916, the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives is a nonprofit, professional development organization. With more than 200 dues- paying members, the organization trains and supports Wisconsin chamber professionals as they promote and enhance the economies of communities around the state. Kopp has served as executive director since 1994. She also serves on the Governor's Council on Tourism and is on the board of directors of the Tri-State Tourism Council, which serves southwest Wisconsin, northwest Illinois and northeast Iowa. As Platteville chamber director, Kopp is responsible for coordinating tourism advertising and promotion for the Platteville community as well as focusing on business recruitment and development.
McGraw-Hill Education announced the following new staff members:
Noah Evans is a recent graduate from the University of Dubuque, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Matt Lozano is a recent graduate from Clarke University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in public relations and advertising.
Mary Neuwoehner comes to the company with more than seven years in the sales industry and having held positions ranging from sales executive at Pitney Bowes to territory manager at National Dentex. She has a bachelor's degree in business management and leadership from the University of Dayton.
Christina Jackson is a recent graduate of Loras College, where she earned her bachelor's degree in marketing. She joined the company as an intern during her senior year , progressed through the Digital Success Team and is now on the sales team.
Stacey Kaiser has joined as internal transfer within the company. She comes to McGraw-Hill from the for-profit side of the higher education business where she had an outstanding record of success in sales. She will now focus on helping higher education instructors in the southeastern U.S. with McGraw-Hill's cutting-edge adaptive technology.
Kelly Cornelius graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in history. After college, she spent time as a school coordinator for a nonprofit youth literacy program and also worked at the Dubuque Art Center.
Abbie Nilles comes to the company with experience in education and teaching both domestically and abroad (China). She graduated from Iowa State University in May 2009 with a bachelor's degree in child, adult and family services. After graduating she spent time teaching English to adult learners in Yinchuan and Wuhan Province, China. She has served state-side as a paraprofessional in Holyoke, Mass., schools as well as in Dubuque Community Schools.
Sheri Glew comes to the company with an impressive background in educational technology and learning services. Prior to joining McGraw-Hill, she spent the past six years as a PreK-12 senior manager of Digital Learning at Kendall Hunt. Her professional background includes time as vice president of sales and implementation for Great River Technologies and director of IT for Westmark Enterprises. In 2011, she earned a master's degree in instructional design and educational technology from Walden University.
Marie Panozzo recently completed her bachelor's degree from Loras College in public relations. She has experience in several aspects of marketing, including social media marketing.
Bill Welsh joined the company as a senior member of the sales team. He started his career in sales with McGraw-Hill and since then has been involved in digital marketing and market development. He has a bachelor's degree in communications from Clarke University.
Daniel Binkholder joins the company from the St. Louis area. He has been involved in the education field and content providers for several years. He joined the company in 2012 and was with the St. Louis operation before transferring to the Dubuque-based team at the beginning of this year. He is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a master's degree in administration and a bachelor's degree in English.
Lisa Huinker has rejoined the company. She has been one of the best performing sales representatives on the McGraw-Hill team and has an impressive track record of success. She is a graduate of Loras College and before first joining McGraw-Hill, she worked for the Dubuque Community Head Start program as a teacher and social worker.
Kurtz Communications Inc., with company headquarters in Dubuque, announced that its president, Jim Kurtz, has been appointed to the Century Link Advisory Board of Directors for 2014. Kurtz Communications, founded in 2000 by Jim and Denise Kurtz, is a premier partner of Century Link and also represents more than 30 other telecom providers nationwide. The company specializes in consulting, complex engineering and ongoing management of enterprise level telephony architecture for businesses nationally and internationally. The company recently expanded its footprint to include customers in London, Singapore and Mexico.
Dubuque Main Street recently welcomed Chad Darter and Creed Waelchli to its board of directors.
Darter is the director of facilities for the Diamond Jo Casino. Darter brings construction and architectural expertise to the board, after having been brought back to Dubuque to oversee the construction of the new casino and entertainment facility in the Port of Dubuque. The Diamond Jo Casino is owned and operated by Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming.
Waelchli is director of community development for Cottingham & Butler, a longtime supporter of Dubuque Main Street. Waelchli's career spans more than 20 years in high-level client service, business development and management. Cottingham & Butler is one of the Top 40 largest insurance brokers nationally, specializing in custom risk management and benefit programs.
Dubuque Main Street is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development and ongoing support of downtown as the place to live, work and play.
Holly Kueter has accepted the position of regional economic development and sustainability coordinator at East Central Intergovernmental Association. She will coordinate the Prosperity Eastern Iowa collaborative economic development initiatives such as Buyer Supplier Connection and Petal Project; develop and promote new regional economic development initiatives; assist in preparing state and federal grant applications; and assist in the development of ECIA's comprehensive economic development strategy. She earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Clarke College and her master's degree in communications from the University of Dubuque. She has been with ECIA for more than 12 years in previous positions.
