StorMagic Names Matthew Durkin EVP of Sales


BRISTOL, United Kingdom --(Business Wire)--

StorMagic®, a leading provider of enterprise-class software-defined storage for virtual server environments, today announced that it has hired Matthew Durkin as its new Executive Vice President of Sales. He will lead and oversee all global sales efforts for the company's industry-leading SvSAN virtual storage software, and serve on the StorMagic executive management team.

Durkin comes to StorMagic from Dell's (News - Alert) Compellent business unit, where he led business development for the company's health care group. Before that, he served as president and CEO for three companies over a decade: virtual tape company Neartek Inc., facilities software company Centerstone Software and database software company Terascape Software. He was responsible for worldwide sales at Data General's CLARiiON business unit, and grew sales from $14 million to $700 million prior to the business unit's acquisition by EMC (News - Alert). He also was the 17th employee hired at EM Corporation, where he served as a product marketing and sales executive and helped drive the company's explosive growth.
