Thunder Valley sets marketing deal with MGM's Las Vegas casinos [The Sacramento Bee :: ]

(Sacramento Bee (CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 18--Thunder Valley Casino announced a marketing alliance today with MGM Resorts International, giving rewards-card members benefits at famous MGM casinos in Las Vegas and elsewhere.

The partnership translates into "reciprocal benefits" for each company's loyalty programs. Thunder Valley rewards-card members will be offered deals from MGM properties such as the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, New York-New York and MGM Grand. In turn, members of MGM's rewards plan, known as M life, will get offers from Thunder Valley, the giant tribal-owned casino near Lincoln.

Las Vegas casino companies for years have entered into management agreements to oversee operations of Indian casinos; Thunder Valley was run by Station Casinos Inc. in its early years, before the tribe took over management. Doug Elmets, a spokesman for Thunder Valley, said the MGM deal appears to be a unique example of an Indian casino operating as an equal partner with a Vegas company.

"We're going to be doing cooperative marketing," he said. "We're going to be appealing to their customer base; they're going to be appealing to our customer base." "Thunder Valley is thrilled to be partnering with world-renowned MGM Resorts International and their prestigious Las Vegas properties to offer our Thunder Rewards members a new gaming experience that is uniquely Vegas," said Dawn Clayton, general manager at Thunder Valley, in a prepared statement.
