Monsanto Ranked among Best Places to Work in France

Monsanto SAS (News - Alert) has been ranked the 15th best big company to work for in France, according to the annual Great Place to Work® survey. This year, 60 companies have been recognized among the 166 that applied.

The Great Place to Work® Institute France survey rankings are based on a combination of an assessment of employees' responses to a survey about job satisfaction (2/3 of the score) and an independent assessment of human resources management, company culture and well-being at work (1/3 of the score). The big-company category applies to those with more than 500 employees.

"This reward is a remarkable recognition of our 550 employees in France," said Isabelle Zonca-Mérieux, Human Resources Lead for Monsanto in France. "It's also a testament to the company's work culture and focus on personal development."

This prestigious ranking complements the recognition that has been granted to Monsanto Co. for the last 2 years as a Great Place to Work among multinational companies. The company has received similar recognition in Belgium and Romania. Monsanto Co. also recently was named as one of the "World's Most Admired Companies" by FORTUNE magazine and one of the "50 martest Companies" by MIT (News - Alert) Technology Review.

Monsanto's activities in France include research, development and production of innovative seeds and solutions for sustainable agriculture. The company markets maize and oilseed rape seeds (DEKALB brand), vegetable seeds (Seminis and De Ruiter brands), and herbicides (Roundup brand).

Monsanto has operations at 11 sites close to France's major farming regions. Several seed research stations work on breeding high quality seeds in maize, oilseed rape and vegetables. The seeds are produced in many regions, then processed and bagged in three plants. The seeds are both delivered to French farmers and exported to 30 other countries.
