"Multimedia Exchange Network Over Satellite" operational in next June [Algeria Press Service]


(Algeria Press Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) OUM EL BOUAGHI (Algeria)-  Multimedia Exchange Network Over Satellite (MENOS), communications protocol for exchanging multimedia content using communications satellites will be installed in Algeria in June 2014, Communication Minister Abdelkader Messahel, announced Thursday in Oum El Bouaghi (500 km east of Algiers).This protocol deploying the technology Newtec hosted by the Arab States Broadcasting Union platform will enable TDA (Algeria broadcasting agency) to have access to its own Secure Virtual IP network and completely automatic for contributing and exchanging audio and TV content at very high speed.Considered by the minister, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new headquarters of Oum El Bouaghi Radio Station, as "important achievements" and  "true revolution in communication sector in Algeria," the equipments related to this technology, destined to favor "interregionality and interconnection" among the different radio stations will be installed in the 48 provinces, with two separated networks for the contribution radio and television, connecting cities and villages.Messahel has also expressed satisfaction after inaugurating this modern equipped radio station, he called a gain for this city which made huge sacrifices for Algerian freedom and was the homeland of great men like Larbi Ben M'hidi and Mohamed-Laïd Al Khalifa.The minister who was speaking live on Oum El Bouaghi national radio also announced that the station, will house, in eastern Algeria, a training centre of radio journalists and possibly other media.
