Acer H5380BD Home Entertainment Projector; Movie Quality Projection in a Power-Saving Platform

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) March 21, 2014 Acer today announced that the Acer® H5380BD home entertainment projector is available for U.S. consumers. Acer's newest projector displays 720p HD images in the widescreen 16:9 format. It also offers 144Hz 3D support to provide terrific movie and 3D entertainment for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $549.

A 3,000 standard lumens high brightness and a 17,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio enhanced with DynamicBlack technology provide clarity for excellent readability. The native 720p (1280 x 720) resolution renders sharp HD images, while enabling the playback of high-definition content from Blu-ray Discs™, DVDs and other sources.

"Our newest projector was designed to provide consumers with an affordable option for showcasing HD movies and 3D entertainment," said Edward Chan, product manager for Acer America. "Outfitted with a long-lasting LED lamp and power saving options, it offers a low total cost of ownership. Small and lightweight, it's easy to move from room to room or to bring to a friend's house for a movie night." The Acer H5380BD projector displays up to a 300-inch image and ensures image accuracy with deep color saturation up to 95 to 130 percent NTSC(1). As a result, it projects high-quality visuals in a wide range of natural colors. To prevent damage from airborne dust, the new projector is outfitted with an Acer dust shield system. It includes a lens shield, a sealed engine to protect the color wheel sensor and a vertical board to safeguard the thermal sensor from dust collection. It also offers an optional 3D dust filter to stop airborne dust from entering the projector along with airflow.

3D Support - Movie Quality Projection DLP 3D Ready, it enables users wearing DLP 3D glasses to view any 120Hz 3D frame sequential content from a PC with the appropriate 120Hz graphics card and 3D stereoscopic player. The color wheel runs at the 144Hz speed rate, up to three times the refresh rate on 24p 3D format video contents. The rapid refresh rate eliminates the flicker and improves the 3D viewing experience for movies and games.

Outfitted with Acer ColorBoost II+ technology, the projector improves color performance based on the lamp spectrum and color wheel properties. It enhances the natural color temperature to achieve color balance and content-based color brightness.

The Acer H5380BD takes advantage of ColorSafe II technology that virtually eliminates color decay. Leveraging DLP technology, the Acer H5380BD projector ensures picture integrity even with prolonged use. Outfitted with dynamic RGB gain control, it better secures color fidelity when compared to traditional DLP projectors. The extended lifespan and consistent image quality lower the total cost of ownership, translating to significant savings.

It supports comprehensive wide-format signals with Acer SmartFormat technology, which eliminates signal not supported issues and having to change the resolution of a wide-format notebook.

Flexible Connectivity Offering connectivity options and instant switching, the Acer H5380BD has three connectors for multiple PC source input, including D-Sub x2 and HDMI/MHL x1. In addition, a serial port provides advanced control and monitoring. Available as an option is an Acer wireless adapter that attaches to the MHL/HDMI port, enabling the projector to display the content wirelessly from MHL-supported mobile devices.

The Acer H5380BD projector is lightweight and compact weighing just 5.5 pounds and measuring 12.4- x 8.8- x 3.7-inches. Outfitted with a 2W speaker, it delivers quality audio without having to connect to an external sound system.

Eco-Friendly Power Savings It provides up to 5,000 hours of lamp life in standard mode, 6,000 hours in ECO mode and 10,000 hours in ExtremeEco mode.(2) Using the power-saving modes saves on lamp replacement costs and ensures long-term, dependable projector use.
