Forbes Names Capella Education Company One of the 100 Most Trustworthy Companies

MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)--

Capella Education Company (NASDAQ: CPLA), a provider of exclusively online post-secondary education through its wholly owned subsidiary Capella University (News - Alert), has been named by Forbes as one of "The 100 Most Trustworthy Companies." This is the second time Capella Education Company has been selected as a trustworthy company by Forbes; the first time was in 2010.

Proprietary ratings provider and investment adviser GMI Ratings gives Forbes the rankings. To develop the rankings, GMI reviews the accounting and governance behaviors of more than 8,000 publicly-traded companies in North America. When assessing each company, GMI considers factors including high risk events, revenue and expense recognition methods, SEC (News - Alert) actions, and bankruptcy risk as indicators of a company's credibility. The companies that make this list garnered the 100 highest scores for trustworthy behavior over the four quarters of the previous fiscal year.

"We're honored to once again be included in Forbes' list of the 100 Most Trustworthy Companies. This is an outstanding reflection of our integrity," said Kevin Gilligan, chairman and CEO of Capella Education Company. "A strong reputation is invaluable and we have earned ours through our unwavering commitment to our mission, our values, and our learners."
