Kennesaw State University's Enterprise Information Management group has received the 2014 SAS Excellence in Education Award for effectively using SAS software to address critical challenges, which empowers leaders to make confident, insightful decisions as well as spark innovation and expand educational opportunities.
Kennesaw State was honored for its progress thus far in a multi-year implementation of the SAS Enterprise Intelligence Suite for Higher Education (EISE). This suite of data management, warehousing, quality and analysis tools is used to assist in monitoring the accuracy of information in KSU's operational databases such as the Banner student information system as well as improve enterprise reporting and analytics. SAS EISE powers this website with a dynamic portal, entitled VIC (Virtual Information Center), which provides continuously refreshed data for a variety of measures.
"We are very pleased Kennesaw State University has been selected to receive the SAS Excellence in Education Award," said Randy Hinds, vice president for operations, chief information officer and chief business officer. "The Enterprise Information Management group at Kennesaw State has achieved all of the goals set before them thus far, and this award reflects their hard work."
Enterprise Information Management (EIM) supports the Virtual Information Center for KSU's statistical data and operational information. EIM is the operations center for KSU's SAS-powered data management systems (operational database reports, data warehouse, marts, dashboards, analytics, etc.).
