WellPoint Announces Appointment of Thomas Miller as Chief Information Officer [Global Data Point]

Prior to joining WellPoint, Miller served as senior vice president and chief information officer for Coca Cola Refreshments, where he lead the information technology function and a team of 1000 IT professionals. He also served in the concurrent role as CIO for the Coca Cola's North America Group with responsibility for consumer-facing technologies in the areas of digital marketing, social media and loyalty programs. Since joining Coca Cola in 1982, he has held multiple leadership positions including, General Manager, Program Scale %7E Vice President, Bottling Investments, Vice President, Business Information Systems Operations and Chief Information Officer for the Europe, Eurasia %7E Middle East Group.

Miller holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, and a MBA from Goizueta Business School, Emory University. He is a charter board member and steering committee member of SAP's Global Consumer Products Industry Advisory Council (CPAC), a charter board member of the Alliance for Freedom, Restoration and Justice, a 501(c)3 organization devoted to combating human trafficking; and was honored in 2010 as a Top Ten Visionary Leader by Consumer Goods Technology magazine.
