School of Business Graduate Achieves Major Accounting Award

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., March 28 -- The Wake Forest University Schools of Business issued the following news release: When the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) announced the winners of the 2013 Elijah Watt Sells Award this month, a Wake Forest School of Business graduate was on that prestigious list. Award winner Kyle Linnemeyer (MSA '13) now works at Grant Thornton in New York.

"The Wake environment ensures that you are not just gaining accounting knowledge through traditional learning but also through evaluating, presenting and debating current issues. This foundation of knowledge and experience gives me greater confidence when I'm interacting with clients on a range of topics," Linnemeyer said.

The Sells Award is given to candidates who not only pass the exam, but score higher than 95.50 on all four sections of the Uniform CPA exam. While 94,154 people sat for the exam in 2013, only 55 achieved this honor. You can read more about Linnemeyer's achievement in this Accounting Today (http://www.accountingtoday.com/acto_blog/aicpa-announces-2013-elijah-watt-sells-award-winners-69985-1.html) article.

The Sells Award dates back to 1924, according to the AICPA.
