Taiwan's industrial index expands 2.1% in January-February [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]
(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Taiwan's industrial index expanded 2.1% in the first two months of this year, mainly driven by increased output from the manufacturing and fuel supply sectors. According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the nation's output from the manufacturing sector accelerated 2.32% during the period, on back of increased output of semiconductors, LED and solar products, along with steel, petrochemicals and auto parts.
The country's output from the fuel supply sector expanded 3.18% y/y during the period, while commercial sales which include the wholesale, retail and restaurant sectors accelerated 2.1% registering TWD 2.3trn.
