Global Scientific Leaders in Traumatic Brain Injury Research Meeting in Washington This Month

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

The world's leading researchers in the field of traumatic brain injury research are meeting on April 16 & 17, 2014 in Washington DC for the 4th Annual Traumatic Brain Injury Conference. Traumatic brain injuries are one of the foremost health concerns throughout the world. In the US alone, an estimated 1.7 million people seek medical care for traumatic brain injuries each year. "This year's conference will provide a unique forum for the latest developments of diagnostics and therapeutics in TBI and will outline future strategies," noted Andreas Jeromin, Ph.D., one of the scientific co-organizers of the meeting.

This event brings together researchers and clinicians from industry, academia, the military and government to present ground-breaking research in a variety of areas related to traumatic brain injury, including new therapeutic candidates, novel neuroimaging, biomarkers, outcomes research, assessment tools and preclinical research. Headlining this year's event are the following experts in the field of TBI:

  • Andrew Maas, MD, Ph.D. - University Hospital Antwerp
  • Mark Mintun, MD - Avid Radiopharmaceuticals (Eli Lilly & Co)
