Uzbek-Singaporean business forum held in Tashkent [AKIpress News Agency (Kyrgyz Republic)]
(AKIpress News Agency (Kyrgyz Republic) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A business forum of business circles of Uzbekistan and Singapore was held in the International Business Center in Tashkent.
The forum was attended by heads of ministries and departments, companies and corporations, responsible for such areas as economy, trade and industry, investment, insurance, banking and finance, engineering, energy, high technology, export and import, manufacture building materials, electrical engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, leather industry, communications, information technology and telecommunications, education and business consulting, UzA reported.
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Uzbekistan Alisher Shaykhov stressed that cooperation between Singapore and Uzbekistan is developing dynamically in the political, economic, trade and investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The volume of mutual trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Singapore in 2013 amounted to $47.6 million. 33 joint ventures with participation of Singaporean investments were established in Uzbekistan, the companies operate in such areas as energy, light and food industry, electrical engineering.
The participants were briefed on the measures taken in the country for development of entrepreneurship, preferences and benefits created in the free industrial zone Navoi, economic zones Angren and Jizzakh.
Prospects for further development of economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Singapore, further expansion of ties in trade, investment, energy, chemical industry, building materials, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering field, leather industry, development and implementation of mutually beneficial investment projects, were also considered during the business forum.
A cooperation exchange with representatives from a number of companies and enterprises of Uzbekistan and Singapore was held as part of the event.
