Aman offers solution to fight Oman cyber threats [Times of Oman]

(Times of Oman Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Muscat: Aman Technologies launched its T-SEC brand of managed security services during Comex which can monitor security and non-security devices to check for breaches and security policy compliance.  The product, which heralds a new chapter in the IT security preparedness of Oman in countering cyber threats, has been developed to address increasing concerns about an exponential increase in cyber attacks.  Aman Technologies has set-up a security operations centre at their data centre in Muscat, offering a host of services that assures companies to secure their information assets. T-Sec provides log management, security monitoring and incident reporting services. Reports provide compliance documentation for mandates such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOX and internal policies.  The base system configuration consists of four components, a capture Sentinel, gateway, distributed database, and a management portal. For small installations, these can be installed as software modules on a single high performance server. Customers with mid-sized network can run these on blade server systems or virtual VMware machines. For very large carrier and enterprise installations, the system features Infinite Horizontal Scalability, the ability to add system capacity and resiliency by installing additional servers in parallel.  Local talents Speaking to the Times of Oman, Vinod Vidya Sagar, director of global delivery at Aman, said what makes T-Sec different from other services available in the market is that the services have been bundled in an integrated package instead of being offered individually.  There has been a lack of proper authentication and Aman is seeking to offer a two-factor authentication with the aim of protecting systems against cyber threats, he added. "If an attack is going to happen, we will inform the customer well in advance because we monitor it."   Commenting on the two-year-old company, Sagar said that Aman is an Omani company though expats are working in it and efforts are underway to promote local talents.  According to him, Aman Technologies, which is an established SAP (Systems Applications Products) partner, has been sponsoring SAP training provided by the colleges affiliated with the Ministry of Manpower. IT infrastructure solutionsJagan. M, manager of infra sales at Aman, said it is the only company across Oman which has set up its security operation centre in the country itself.  Apart from T-Sec, the company also offers a variety of IT infrastructure solutions, including developing data centres and designing disaster recovery sites, he said.
